Scope of Work

Scope of Work Statement

1. Purpose

This Scope of Work Statement defines the services Motion Made Smart agrees to provide during a scheduled installation appointment. It establishes clear boundaries for included services and exclusions to ensure transparency and mutual understanding.

2. Services Included

Unless otherwise specified in writing, Motion Made Smart provides the following services during an installation visit:

  • Installation of customer-provided or Motion Made Smart–supplied smart home devices

  • Mounting of devices using standard mounting hardware

  • Device connection to existing Wi-Fi networks

  • Basic device configuration through manufacturer applications

  • Functional testing to confirm proper operation

  • Customer education on basic usage and features at the time of installation

Services are limited to consumer-ready, low-voltage, or plug-in devices, including but not limited to:

  • Video doorbells

  • Security cameras

  • Smart locks

  • Garage door openers

  • TVs, speakers, and soundbars

  • Routers, Wi-Fi hubs, and mesh systems

  • Smart plugs, bulbs, and similar devices

3. Services Not Included

The following services are explicitly excluded unless separately quoted and agreed to in writing:

  • High-voltage electrical work

  • Electrical wiring modifications, breaker panel work, or circuit changes

  • Installation or modification of hardwired lighting, outlets, or switches

  • Structural modifications (drywall repair, masonry work, carpentry, painting)

  • Network redesign, advanced networking, or enterprise-grade configurations

  • Data recovery, device repair, or manufacturer warranty service

  • Ongoing technical support beyond the installation visit (unless covered by a Motion Care Plan)

4. Change of Scope

Any work requested outside this Scope of Work must be:

  • Approved by the customer in advance

  • Documented and quoted separately

  • Scheduled for a future visit if necessary

Motion Made Smart is not obligated to perform additional work outside the agreed scope during the same appointment.

5. Site Conditions & Limitations

Services may be delayed or paused if:

  • Installation conditions are unsafe

  • Required power, internet, or access is unavailable

  • Pre-existing electrical or structural issues are discovered

Resolution of such conditions is the responsibility of the customer.

6. Completion Criteria

The service is considered complete when:

  • Devices are installed securely

  • Devices are connected and tested

  • The customer has received basic usage guidance

7. Acceptance of Scope

By proceeding with service, the customer acknowledges and agrees that the work performed is limited to the scope described above.
